Jahra Traffic Crackdown: Vehicles Seized, Violators Arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: The General Traffic Department, represented by the Jahra Governorate Traffic Department, recently conducted a series of intensive field traffic campaigns across several roads and areas within the governorate. These operations were carried out as part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to preserve public safety, enforce the law, and strictly monitor traffic behavior to identify and apprehend violators.

The campaigns produced significant results, including the following:

  • 5,005 various traffic violations were registered.
  • 6 individuals were arrested for residing in the country with expired residency permits.
  • 43 vehicles and 2 motorcycles were impounded due to traffic-related offenses.
  • 109 violations were recorded for overtaking and deliberately obstructing the flow of traffic.
  • 22 violations were issued against motorists driving vehicles that produced disturbing or excessive noise.
  • 6 juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution for traffic-related offenses.
  • 7 vehicles wanted by the judiciary were seized.
  • 8 individuals were placed under precautionary detention.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its firm stance that it will not show leniency toward violators of traffic laws. It also urged the public to play an active role in maintaining road safety by reporting any traffic violations or reckless driving behavior. The Ministry stressed that such cooperation between authorities and the public is vital for enhancing traffic safety and reducing negative practices on the road.
