KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: Security patrols in Jahra and Ahmadi have arrested two individuals in separate incidents for possession of alcohol, with one also wanted in an absconding case, according to security sources.

In the first incident, Jahra security patrols arrested a man in his forties on Kabd Road. Officers became suspicious of a parked vehicle during routine patrols and, upon approaching it, found the occupant to be intoxicated and in possession of a bottle of imported liquor. Further checks revealed that the man has a criminal record. He was taken into custody and transferred to the police station, where legal procedures were initiated. The suspect and the seized items were referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal action.

In a separate case, Ahmadi security patrols arrested an Asian national in the Mangaf area who was wanted in connection with an absconding case. Security officers grew suspicious of the individual while he was carrying a bag during patrols in the area late last night. Upon stopping and verifying his identity, it was confirmed that he was reported to have absconded from his workplace.

A precautionary search led to the discovery of locally manufactured bottles of liquor in his possession. He was subsequently arrested and referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
