Chairman’s Cup 2016 Level A winners

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: The final for the Chairman’s Cup 2016 at Al Nasser Sports Complex produced stellar players who claimed the title for this tournament.

Some players were able to withstand and edge over their opponents from the start to the finish, while others had to work their way up to be able to come out winners.

The champions for each Level are Mathew Jacob and Gino Gaytano for Advance Level, Ahmad Sharif and Kenneth Laxamana for Level B, Mostafa Abbas and Yance Domaloy for Level C and team Ricky Tanghal and Rhodora Ladia for Level D Category.

Level A

In the Advanced Level Team Mathew Jacob and Gino Gaytano were able to defend the crown against Medo Abbod and Ainur Duma Jul during their face off in the final round 16-21, 21-18, 21-16. Binu Govind and Pranav TJ were 2nd runners-up. They lost in semifinal 21-18, 21-15.

 Being Rank 1 Mathew and Gino earned a spot in the final when they defeated Medo and Ainur in the quarter-final 21-18, 20-21, 21-18. Second Rank Team Binu and Pranav were beaten by Medo and Ainur during the double knockout round 19-21, 20-21 but were able to earn a spot in the semifinal when they edge the team of Henry and Eric 21-17, 21-18. Third rank Menu and Ainur moved up their game as they defeated Nestor and Berlin 21-18, 21-17 and tamed Roy and Samah 21-17, 21-18 during the double knock out game.

Level B

In this Category, Team Ahmad Sharif and Kenneth Laxamana took home the Championship by defeating Joel Lawagan and Romeo Logalong 21-17, 21-19. They also tamed Sid Ladia and Mishal Al Khaldy in the semifinal 19-21, 21-20, 21-19 who took home the 2nd runner-up title.

Ahmad and Kenneth secured a spot on the final when they outclassed Joel and Romeo in the quarter-final. Meanwhile Joel and Romeo moved up to semifinal by prevailing against Sripad and Lukman in the quarter-final 18-21, 21-15, 21-18. Sid and Mishal won in the semifinal taming Andy and Nihar 21-6, 21-9, but they lost over James and Glyza 18-21, 21-19, 19-21 but were able to defeat Ambar and Rami 19-21, 21-13, 21-17 and slammed James and Glyza 21-13, 21-13 during the quarterfinal.

Level C

For this Category Mostafa Abbas and Yance Domaloy slammed their opponent Joseff and Rose in the final 21-14, 21-14. They also defeated them in the quarter-final before and earned a spot in the final round 21-18, 21-13.

The first runners-up in this category are Joseff Qallaf and Rose Pantig. They were able to earn a spot in the final round by defeating Donz and Joy in the knockout round 21-15, 21-17 and defeating Aries Segismundo and Krista Murillo in the semifinal 21-20, 21-20 for the 2nd runners-up prize.

On the other hand Aries and Krista were beaten by Liza and Talal 17-21, 21-18, 21-20, but were able to outclass Reem and Mishari 21-12, 21-17 in the knockout round. During the quarter-final they were able to level their game and earn a spot in the semifinal. They thumped Mike and Cecile 21-18, 21-17 and outclassed Donz and Joy 21-19, 21-20.

Level D

In this category Ricky Tanghal and Rhodora Ladia pummeled their opponent Shiela Gonzaga and Ali Asgar in the final 21-11, 21-15. The 2nd runners-up were Eandrei Tantiangco and Mylene Bunyi.

During the knockout game, Sheila and Ali beat King and Ross 7-21, 21-19, 21-17 but lost to Rick and Rhodora 21-9, 21-12 which earned them a spot in the semifinal.

Rick and Rhodora took a spot in the final. On the other hand Ean and Mylene worked their way by hammering Samira and Amani 21-7, 21-16. They lostto King and Ross 20-21, 10-21 during the knockout game but were able to edge them in the quarter-final 10-21, 21-19, 21-19.
