Jabriya murder ruling set for ‘Feb 2’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13: The Court of Appeals has adjourned to February 2 its verdict in the murder case of traveler Hani Al-Mousawi, widely referred to in the media as “The Jabriya Murder Case.” Previously, the Court of First Instance had convicted the defendant and sentenced him to death. During the proceedings, the victim’s lawyer, Hassan Al-Mousawi, stressed that the defendant did not merely fire two shots at the victim outside his home but also pursued him inside and fired the final shot to his head while he was in his mother’s arms, in a scene that embodies extreme violence and premeditation. The defense called for the imposition of the maximum penalty.
