KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The Italian Ambassador, Lorenzo Morini inaugurated yesterday evening, Tuesday, an art exhibition by Italian artist Federico Fiorentini, titled "A gaze elsewhere," at the Contemporary Art Platform (CAP), in the presence of many visitors and art lovers. The exhibition featured a magnificent collection of contemporary paintings by Fiorentini, which received the public's interest and appreciation.
The exhibition was followed by a jazz concert titled "It's Time," featuring saxophonist Gabriele Buonasorte and ensemble, who enlivened the evening with a wonderful selection of jazz music.
In his speech, HE. Ambassador Lorenzo Morini stated "Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, dear friends, Good evening and welcome to the opening of the exhibition “A Gaze Elsewhere. Visions from a Moving Memory.”
It is a great pleasure to have you all here this evening and allow me in the first place to express my gratitude to the Contemporary Art Platform for hosting us in this wonderful gallery.
It is indeed a great privilege for the Italian Embassy to collaborate with such an important institution, which plays a fundamental role in promoting art, culture, and creativity among the Kuwaiti public.
This evening, we are here to admire and celebrate the remarkable work of the Italian artist Federico Fiorentini, whose extraordinary talent and unique perspective have captivated us. Federico’s work is a testament to the power of art to question, reflect, and share human experience.
In looking at Federico’s creations, we are drawn to the depth of his vision, while admiring from a different perspective a series of elements that are part of our daily life. The pieces on display come together to form a rich, layered narrative, pushing us to contemplate in a new, unexpected way the architectural landscape surrounding us and some of the most iconic examples of industrial design of our time.
It is indeed a unique experience and I want to express my gratitude to Federico for trusting us with his vision.
I would like to conclude by thanking my staff for their invaluable support and, without further ado, I declare the exhibition officially open.
Please, enjoy the art, and we will wait for you all at the Jazz concert that will follow this opening."
