KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The Kuwait Winter Games Club launched an international training camp for Kuwaiti female figure skaters, with supervision from the International Skating Union (ISU). The camp, held at the club’s ice rink, features 70 participants and includes guidance from Latvian skating expert Yegor Admiral.
Club president Fahad Al-Ajmi said the four-week camp is designed to boost the athletes’ technical skills and performance levels using the latest internationally approved training programs. He also thanked the ISU for its support in organizing the camp.
Al-Ajmi emphasized the importance of bringing in the expert, recommended by the ISU, to encourage Kuwaiti skaters and help them continue their progress. The initiative is part of the club’s strategic plan to develop Kuwait’s five winter sports, including figure skating.
The intensive camp aims to prepare a new generation of standout athletes for regional and international competitions. Among the highlights, the team is set to compete in the 2026 Berlin International Figure Skating Championship in mid-February, showcasing the rising talent in the country.
