BEIRUT (AP), Apr 2: Israeli strikes across Lebanon have killed at least 1,345 people since the start of the conflict with Hezbollah, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. In the past 24 hours alone, 27 people were killed and 105 wounded, bringing total injuries to more than 4,000. The casualties include 125 children, 91 women, and 53 health workers, while at least 82 emergency medical facilities have been targeted.
The escalation began after Hezbollah launched rockets toward northern Israel on March 2, prompting intense Israeli airstrikes and a widening ground offensive in southern Lebanon. The ongoing violence has displaced more than one million people, deepening the humanitarian crisis.
Meanwhile, hospitals continue to be affected, with Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bint Jbeil evacuated as a precaution amid fears of advancing Israeli forces. The Health Ministry reported that at least five hospitals have now been forced to close, with nine facilities targeted since the conflict intensified, as Israeli troops push further into Lebanese territory.
