BEIRUT, Apr 12: An Israeli airstrike on Sunday morning killed six people in the southern Lebanese town of Maaroub, according to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency.
The report said the strike hit a residential home housing seven people, with the attack occurring without prior warning. There was no immediate comment from Israel regarding the incident.
Israel has previously stated that its military operations target operatives and infrastructure linked to the Hezbollah militant group, which is based in Lebanon.
While Israeli airstrikes over Beirut have reportedly decreased in recent days, attacks in southern Lebanon have intensified alongside a continuing ground operation in the region, raising concerns about further escalation along the border.
