KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: The Israeli Ministry of Education announced that it would delete any reference to Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg from its curricula after she posted on her account on the “X” website a tweet with a picture in which she supports Palestine, reports Al-Rai daily.

The ministry claimed that Thunberg’s post “supports the Hamas movement,” noting that “this position deprives her of being an educational and moral role model, and she is no longer qualified to be a source of inspiration and teacher for Israeli students.”

Hundreds of Israeli activists criticized the Swedish environmental activist over the weekend after she posted on the X website a tweet on October 20 in which she said: “Today we stand in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. The world must raise its voice and call for an immediate ceasefire and the achievement of justice and freedom.” For the Palestinians and all affected civilians.”

Greta appeared with three girls in the photo holding banners reading “Support Gaza,” “Free Palestine,” “This Jew supports Palestine,” and “Climate justice.”

More than 100 signatures were also included in an open letter sent to Thunberg, and several activists responded directly to it on the X website.

The letter, sent by Israeli environmental activists, said that they “feel extreme pain, shock, and disappointment because of your tweets and posts related to Gaza.”
