KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17: The Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Dr. Khaled Al-Amira, sentenced an Islamist activist to five-year imprisonment for joining and promoting a banned group on social media in a case related to Hizb ut- Tahrir (Party of Liberation). The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with using his social media accounts to publish content supporting the banned party’s ideology and encouraging others to join it.
