IRGC says it targeted up to five vessels a day in Strait of Hormuz

TEHRAN, Sep 5: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy targeted between two and five vessels every day in the Strait of Hormuz over a 10-day period, a senior IRGC official said Saturday, according to the IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency.

Ali Mohammadi, the IRGC Navy’s deputy for political affairs, said the vessels were targeted for alleged violations and claimed the force continued taking action against ships it considered in breach of its rules even after the 10-day period. He also said US attacks had caused “the slightest disruption” to the IRGC Navy’s surveillance capabilities or its ability to maintain control over the area.
