Iraq defeats Saudi Arabia 2-0

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: Iraq’s national team defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0 in the first group matches of the Arab Gulf Cup football championship held in the Iraqi province of Basra. Heavy rain affected the course of the game, but did not prevent Iraq from scoring two goals through  Iraq’s Ibrahim Baish in the 30th minute and Aso Rustam in the 86th minute.

Iraq scored its first three points in the tournament. Iraq now has 4 point. Earlier Iraq had a goalless draw with Oman which gave 1 point. While Saudi Arabia remained on its three points in the third place, and Yemen is at the bottom of the group teams without any points. Tomorrow in second group Kuwait will meet UAE and Qatar will face Bahrain
