BAGHDAD, Jun 7: Iraq has temporarily closed its airspace and suspended air navigation services for 72 hours due to safety concerns following the launch of Iranian rockets, according to civil aviation officials cited by Reuters.
The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of air traffic amid heightened regional tensions and potential risks to civilian aviation operations.
Officials added that Iraqi airspace will remain closed for the duration of the 72-hour period, with the situation to be reviewed based on developments in regional security conditions. The move comes as several countries in the region tighten airspace controls in response to escalating military activity.
