Iraq Authorities Bust Kuwaiti with 8 Smuggled Falcons

BASRA, Dec 30: The Border Control Authority reported on Saturday that its agents intercepted an attempt to smuggle eight falcons through the Safwan border crossing. Following the directives of Major General Dr. Omar Adnan Al-Wa’ili, the head of the Border Control Authority, to enhance oversight and thwart smuggling endeavors, the Safwan Border Crossing Directorate successfully arrested a Kuwaiti traveler. This individual was discovered with eight falcons, secretly hidden within his vehicle, intended for smuggling from Iraq to Kuwait. The operation was executed in collaboration with supporting agencies as part of intensified supervisory efforts. A dedicated committee was assembled to formally document the seizure, and the seized falcons, along with the suspect and the vehicle, were handed over to the Safwan Customs Police Center for appropriate legal action.
