KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that four Kuwaiti fishermen and one Iraqi national accompanying them were arrested for violating fishing regulations within Iraqi territory, specifically in Al-Muthanna Governorate.

In an official statement, the ministry explained that security patrols from the Customs Police Department in Al-Muthanna, operating under the Border Forces Command, conducted intensive field operations that led to the arrest of the five individuals. According to the statement, the four Kuwaiti nationals, who entered Iraq on tourist visas, and the Iraqi companion were apprehended in the Adima area of the Al-Muthanna desert for breaching the rules governing the entry of foreign hunters and the practice of hunting within Iraqi borders.

Authorities also seized five falcons in their possession and two vehicles bearing Kuwaiti license plates. The ministry confirmed that all necessary legal procedures have been initiated against the suspects.

The statement concluded by reaffirming that the Iraqi Ministry of Interior remains committed to upholding the law without exception, emphasizing that it will not tolerate any violations of regulations or directives issued by the competent Iraqi authorities.
