Iran's Revolutionary Guards Attacks Third Ship in Strait of Hormuz as Maritime Tensions Escalate

TEHRAN, Apr 22: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has attacked a third vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, according to multiple Iranian media reports, marking a further escalation in a series of maritime incidents in the strategic shipping lane.

Semiofficial outlets Nour News, Fars News Agency and Mehr News Agency said the vessel, identified as Euphoria, was targeted by the Guard and later became “stranded” along the Iranian coast. No further details were immediately provided on the condition of the ship or its crew.

The development comes after two earlier vessels were also attacked in the same waterway, with Iranian state television reporting that those ships have since been seized and are now in Iranian custody.

The سلسلة of incidents underscores rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global transit route for energy shipments, as confrontations at sea continue to intensify.
