Iran’s President Says Ready for ‘Balanced and Fair’ Deal, Calls for Regional Peace

TEHRAN, Apr 12: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran is prepared to reach a “balanced and fair” agreement aimed at ensuring lasting regional peace, according to a readout of his phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran’s national interests remain a “red line,” while expressing readiness for a deal that could support long-term stability in the region.

He also criticized the use of U.S. military bases in Gulf countries for strikes against Iran, while describing Gulf states as “brothers” and stating that Tehran is open to cooperation on regional security “without outside powers.”

The Iranian president reiterated his call for regional security arrangements that exclude external intervention, as tensions continue amid ongoing conflict and cross-border incidents in the Gulf region.
