TEHRAN, Apr 12: Iran’s nationwide internet blackout has entered its seventh consecutive week, with more than 1,000 hours of sustained disruption, according to internet monitoring group NetBlocks.
In a statement, NetBlocks said: “Network data show Iran’s internet blackout is now in its 44th day, continuing in its seventh week past the 1032-hour mark.”
The group noted that the prolonged disruption reflects one of the longest large-scale internet restrictions recorded in a connected society, warning that the shutdown is having cumulative human and economic impacts.
The restrictions have significantly limited access to online services, communication platforms, and digital infrastructure across the country, affecting both civilians and businesses.
NetBlocks added that the scale and duration of the blackout place it among the most extended internet shutdowns recorded globally, highlighting ongoing concerns about digital access and connectivity in the region.
