Iran’s 58-Day Internet Blackout Continues Amid Crackdown on Suspected Starlink Use

TEHRAN, April 26: Iranian authorities have sealed three businesses in northwestern Tehran over alleged use of Starlink satellite internet equipment, according to local police, amid an ongoing nationwide internet blackout.

The Tehran Police said officers inspected a commercial complex after receiving reports of unauthorized satellite internet use, leading to the closure of three establishments. The action comes as Iran’s internet restrictions entered their 58th consecutive day, marking nearly nine weeks of disruption.

The monitoring group NetBlocks said the prolonged blackout continues to hinder independent reporting and documentation across the country, noting that the shutdown remains in effect nationwide.
