TEHRAN, Jul 25: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned on Saturday that Britain would become a “definite and legitimate target” if it supports US military operations against Iran, Iranian state television reported.
The warning came amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Western countries, with the IRGC accusing Britain of potentially assisting Washington in military actions against Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said a Ukrainian attack on a commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea killed one sailor and injured another.
Tehran condemned the incident as an act of aggression and a violation of international law, accusing Ukraine of attempting to widen the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The statement followed remarks by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who said Ukrainian forces had carried out strikes in the Caspian Sea targeting a Russian warship and vessels used to transport Iran-linked military cargo.
Ukraine did not provide details on the extent of damage caused by the strikes, while Iran described the attack as targeting a civilian vessel.
