TEHRAN, Jun 7: An Iranian lawmaker claimed on Sunday that recent developments had exposed what he described as the weakness of U.S. military power, while President Masoud Pezeshkian criticized state television for allegedly fueling public anxiety with one-sided coverage.
Mohammadsaleh Jokar said the United States had failed to achieve its objectives through military means, arguing that Washington relied on threats and pressure to extract concessions. He added that Iran should reach a point where the U.S. would no longer dare to threaten the country.
Separately, President Pezeshkian rebuked Iran's state broadcaster, saying national media had no right to disturb public opinion or portray the government's performance negatively through unsupported analysis. He argued that, at a time when the government cannot disclose certain realities due to national security considerations, media outlets should avoid creating unnecessary concern among the public.
The remarks highlight ongoing tensions within Iran over both its confrontation with the United States and the domestic handling of public messaging during a period of heightened regional uncertainty.
