TEHRAN, Apr 19: A senior Iranian military official said Sunday that Iran has begun rebuilding its stockpile of weapons and munitions as a fragile ceasefire approaches its expiration, according to state media.

Brig. Gen. Seyed Majid Mousavi, commander of the Aerospace Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said missile and drone launch systems damaged during the conflict have already been repaired during the ceasefire period that began on April 8.

“Our speed in updating and refilling missile and drone launch platforms is even greater than before the war,” Mousavi said in remarks carried by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.

State television also aired a two-minute video showing rows of missiles and drones stored in warehouses, along with footage of mobile missile launch operations, accompanied by upbeat music.

The developments come as the two-week ceasefire nears its end, raising concerns over a potential resurgence in hostilities.

The United States and Israel have previously said that Iranian military capabilities were significantly degraded during the nearly six-week conflict, particularly targeting missile infrastructure and drone systems.
