WASHINGTON, Nov 2: The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has strongly rejected a recent claim by Iran’s Foreign Minister that Tehran had not attacked civilians in neighboring countries, accusing Iran of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, residential areas and mariners in the Gulf region.

In a statement posted on social media, CENTCOM described the Iranian foreign minister’s claim as “false,” alleging that Iran had intentionally attacked civilian facilities and neighborhoods in neighboring Gulf countries.

CENTCOM further accused Iran of deliberately targeting civilian mariners at sea, claiming that more than 20 mariners had been killed in recent months.

“Iran has not only intentionally attacked civilian infrastructure, neighborhoods, and other facilities in neighboring Gulf countries, but it has also deliberately attacked civilian mariners at sea,” CENTCOM said.

The U.S. military command said Iran’s actions represented “indiscriminate aggression” and were “clearly evident and inexcusable.”

The allegations come amid continuing tensions in the Gulf and renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation between the United States and Iran. Recent reports have documented attacks and incidents involving Gulf infrastructure and commercial shipping, although the full attribution and casualty figures cited by CENTCOM have not been independently verified in all cases.
