TEHRAN, July 29: Iran's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday strongly condemned the US-Saudi strikes on Iran-backed militia in Iraq, describing them as attacks on sites belonging to Iraqi institutions and facilities serving Arbaeen pilgrims.
In a statement, the ministry said the strikes violated Iraq's sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law. It accused the United States and Israel of seeking to widen the regional conflict through military escalation.
Tehran urged respect for Iraq's sovereignty and warned that such actions could further destabilize the region amid heightened tensions.
