TEHRAN / BEIJING, Jun 8: Iran has accused the United States of being responsible for the resumption of hostilities with Israel, claiming that Israeli actions in the region cannot be separated from US policy.
Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said in Tehran that Israel would not take any action without prior coordination with Washington, adding that the US bears responsibility for the escalation. His remarks were reported during a press briefing attended by AFP.
Meanwhile, China expressed deep concern over renewed attacks between Israel and Iran, urging all parties to uphold a fragile ceasefire and avoid further escalation.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian said that restarting hostilities is not in any party’s interest and called on relevant sides to honour their commitment to de-escalation.
The statements come amid continued regional tensions following recent exchanges of fire between Israel and Iran, despite ongoing international calls for restraint
