TEHRAN, June 30: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday defended Iran's negotiating team against domestic criticism, saying the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United States was reached with the full backing of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

Pezeshkian said some groups, influenced by what he described as the psychological operations of hostile media, were attempting to undermine the diplomatic achievement by attacking the negotiating team and questioning national decisions.

He stressed that the MoU was concluded in line with the country's broader strategic policies and had the support of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
