HAIFA (AP), Apr 6: Emergency services reported fresh missile impacts early Monday in the northern Israeli city of Haifa, as tensions between Iran and Israel continue to escalate.

Israel’s Magen David Adom and Fire and Rescue teams confirmed at least two impact sites across residential neighborhoods. Video footage released by responders showed burning vehicles and significant damage to buildings, with fires still active in some areas.

Authorities said it remains unclear whether the destruction was caused by direct missile strikes or debris from intercepted projectiles.

The latest strikes come just a day after a similar attack struck a residential area in Haifa on Sunday, leaving two people dead and several others injured. Rescue operations that began Sunday evening continued into Monday, with emergency crews working to locate individuals trapped beneath the rubble.

Israel’s Fire and Rescue Authority confirmed that two bodies were recovered from a collapsed residential building. Search teams are still attempting to reach two additional individuals believed to be trapped, though their condition remains unknown.

Paramedics responding to Sunday’s attack said they pulled multiple wounded victims from the debris, including an elderly man in serious condition. Three others, among them a baby, sustained minor injuries.

Emergency services remain on high alert as rescue and recovery efforts continue.
