KUWAIT CITY, Oct 11: An Iranian expatriate was arrested for attempting to smuggle state-subsidized soaps and other foodstuff to Iran. According to sources, Customs offi cers at Doha Port were inspecting the luggage of passengers departing to Iran when they came across cartons of soaps and other commodities which are subsidized by the Kuwaiti government. When they questioned the Iranian passenger, he confessed that he was planning to take the items to Iran and sell them. He was arrested and referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, an Egyptian driver of a heavy vehicle was arrested at Abdali Port in possession of ‘Tremadol’ pills. He was referred to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action.
