Iranian attacks cause significant damage to Kuwait's infrastructure

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 8: Brigadier General Nasser Bousleib, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, said a series of Iranian drone attacks since dawn on Wednesday targeted vital facilities belonging to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, causing significant material damage.

The strikes hit multiple sites, including oil facilities and three power and water desalination plants, damaging infrastructure, generation units, distillation systems and fuel tanks, and sparking several fires. The ministry said precautionary measures were taken in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure worker safety and secure the affected locations. A total of 776 incidents of shrapnel were reported since the escalation began, including the recent 18 cases involving falling debris from interception operations.

Speaking during a media briefing, he added that the strikes triggered multiple fires at several sites, noting that precautionary measures were swiftly implemented to ensure the safety of workers and secure the affected locations.
