Iranian Airlines Cancel UAE Flights, Tehran-Dushanbe Flight Returns Amid Airspace Restrictions

TEHRAN, Sept 24: All flights operated by Iranian airlines to the United Arab Emirates have been canceled since midnight, the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported Thursday, citing a spokesman for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization.

The spokesman said the cancellations affected all Iranian airline flights to the UAE, without providing further details on the reason for the suspension.

In a separate development, a Tehran-Dushanbe flight was forced to return to Imam Khomeini International Airport after Turkmenistan did not grant permission for Iranian airlines to cross its airspace, ISNA reported.

The spokesman said the aircraft was unable to continue to its destination because Turkmenistan had not issued the required authorization for Iranian airlines to use its airspace, forcing the flight to turn back to Tehran.
