Iran Threatens UAE With ‘Very Dangerous Consequences’ Over Netanyahu Visit

DUBAI, Sept 29: Iran’s Foreign Ministry has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the United Arab Emirates, warning regional countries of what it called the “very dangerous consequences” of Israel’s presence in the region.

In a statement carried by Iranian state media, the ministry described Netanyahu’s visit as “provocative” and accused Israel of carrying out military attacks against Iran while escalating violence in the Palestinian territories and Lebanon.

“There is no doubt, given the proven hostility and animosity of the Zionist regime toward Iran and other countries in the region, and its repeated threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran, that all countries in the region must be vigilant about the consequences of such a presence,” the ministry said.

Iran urged regional governments to avoid measures that could expand Israel’s presence, warning that such developments would contribute to greater insecurity and instability in West Asia.

The statement was followed by confirmation from the UAE that Netanyahu visited the country on Sunday and met President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Emirati state news agency WAM reported that the two discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen ties.

The Iranian warning was issued as the UAE and Israel continue diplomatic engagement, with Abu Dhabi maintaining official relations with Israel since the 2020 normalization agreement.
