TEHRAN, Apr 7: Iranian authorities have reported that an airport in western Iran was struck in an air attack on Tuesday, though no casualties were confirmed.

State news agency IRNA quoted a provincial official in Lorestan as saying that the Shahid Ashrafi Esfahani Airport in Khorramabad was targeted in the incident.

The official said the strike caused no loss of life, and did not immediately provide further details on the extent of material damage.

Earlier on Tuesday, Iranian state media also reported that communications infrastructure in rural areas of Selseleh and Delfan counties had been damaged in attacks attributed to the United States and Israel, resulting in telecom outages.

Authorities have not provided independent verification of the claims, while regional tensions continue to escalate amid ongoing military exchanges and infrastructure strikes across Iran.
