TEHRAN, July 16: Iran's military and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Thursday claimed to have launched coordinated drone and missile attacks targeting US military facilities in Jordan, Kuwait and Iraq, describing the operations as retaliation for recent US strikes on Iranian territory.

The operation, identified as the ninth phase of "Operation Saeqeh" (Lightning), was launched in response to recent US attacks on Iran.

The army also said the strikes were carried out in retaliation for attacks on Iranian territory, including what it described as a US strike on a military barracks in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province that allegedly killed seven Iranian army personnel.

The claims have not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate confirmation or response from US, Kuwaiti, Jordanian or Iraqi authorities regarding the alleged attacks or the reported damage.
