TEHRAN, Jun 8: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday that Tehran remains committed to diplomatic engagement even after halting attacks on Israel following the first exchange of fire since the April truce.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian said that “diplomacy and defence are the two wings of national power,” adding that Iran “has neither left the battlefield nor the negotiating table.”
He further stated that Tehran “will not retreat in the face of any threat,” underscoring Iran’s dual approach of maintaining both military readiness and diplomatic channels amid rising regional tensions.
The remarks come after a brief escalation between Iran and Israel, despite the ongoing truce, raising concerns over the stability of the ceasefire arrangement and broader regional security.
