Iran Says Hormuz Closed to Allies of US and Israel

TEHRAN, Mar 27: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Friday that shipping “to and from ports of allies and supporters of the Israeli-American enemies” is prohibited, according to state media reports.

The IRGC added that the Strait of Hormuz is now closed, warning that any vessels attempting to transit the vital waterway would face “harsh measures.”

In a related development, three container ships of different nationalities were reportedly turned back from the strait after receiving warnings from the IRGC navy, signaling an escalation in maritime restrictions amid ongoing regional tensions.
