Iran Opens Strait of Hormuz for Non-Enemy Ships With Security Coordination

TEHRAN, Mar 22: Iran’s representative to the International Maritime Organization said that vessels — except those deemed “enemies” — may transit the Strait of Hormuz under coordinated security arrangements, according to Mehr.

The remarks follow Donald Trump’s threat to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants if Tehran does not fully reopen the strategic waterway within 48 hours.

Iran emphasized its readiness to cooperate with the IMO and other nations to enhance maritime safety and protect seafarers, while blaming U.S. and Israeli attacks as the “root of the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz.”
