Iran Launches Diplomatic Push with Europe, Qatar and Pakistan Amid Crisis

TEHRAN, Jun 8: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a series of telephone conversations with regional and European leaders on Sunday as tensions escalated following renewed exchanges between Iran and Israel.

According to a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Araghchi discussed the latest regional developments with Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as well as the foreign ministers of United Kingdom, France, and Turkey. He also spoke with members of a Pakistani mediation team involved in efforts to facilitate an agreement between Tehran and Washington.

The ministry said the discussions focused on Iran’s response to what it described as Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon, though no further details were provided regarding the content of the talks.

The diplomatic outreach came as Iran launched missile salvos toward Israel following Israeli strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs earlier in the day. The contacts underscore ongoing efforts by regional and international actors to prevent further escalation and revive diplomatic channels amid the continuing crisis.
