KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Jawad Zarif says the accusations launched against his country Iran over the “Abdali Cell” case are suspicious because they were issued immediately after the nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group was signed. He affirmed that the security of Kuwait is the security of Iran, reports Al-Rai daily. He highlighted the important role played by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah following the stampede in Mina during Hajj in which many Iranian pilgrims died or were injured.

The minister said this during a meeting with the Editor-in-Chief of Al-Rai daily Majid Al-Ali along with a limited number of Editors-in-Chief of some Arab newspapers. When asked about the role of Iran in the ‘Abdalli Cell’ case, particularly since the suspects confessed during investigations that they belong to Hezbollah, Zarif said he has announced several times that Iran does not interfere in the internal affairs of the regional countries.

He affirmed the positive role played by Kuwait in the region, stressing that Iran is keen to boost its relations with Kuwait. Zarif said, “We need more media-related activities in the Arab region because of the existence of a misleading campaign against Iran.

It is necessary to emphasize that the security of Saudi Arabia is important for us”. He insisted that Iran did not make any compromises on any cases in the region for reaching the nuclear agreement with America but many people unfortunately think that the nuclear issue will pave the way for Iran to make a deal with USA at the expense of its neighbors.
