WASHINGTON,Jul 21: US President Donald Trump has condemned Iran’s leadership over the executions of two protesters, describing the country’s rulers as “savages” in posts on his Truth Social platform.
Trump shared multiple posts highlighting the executions of 18-year-old Erfan Esfandiari and 23-year-old Gol-Mohammad Mohammadi, who were reportedly executed on Sunday at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan, central Iran.
“The latest one of 52,000, plus, innocent protesters. Savages!!! When will the Democrats wake up??? President DJT,” Trump wrote in a post referring to Mohammadi’s execution.
Trump also reposted messages about Esfandiari’s execution, including calls for supporters to “be their voice,” along with an image showing a grieving woman holding a sign reading “STOP KILLING US” against a backdrop featuring Iran’s Islamic Republic flag.
The remarks come amid growing international criticism over Iran’s treatment of protesters and the use of capital punishment against political detainees. Iranian authorities have not immediately responded to Trump’s comments.
