Iran Cuts Diplomatic and Backchannel Contacts with US

TEHRAN, Apr 7: Iran has suspended all diplomatic and indirect communication channels with the United States, according to state-run media reports, marking a sharp escalation in tensions between the two countries.

The report said “any and all message exchanges have also been suspended,” effectively halting both direct and backchannel contacts. The move comes amid rising military pressure and looming deadlines set by Washington.

However, some reports indicate that while direct communication has been cut, limited engagement through third-party mediators may still continue, underscoring the fragile state of diplomacy between Tehran and Washington.
