TEHRAN, Apr 8: Iran has confirmed it will take part in upcoming talks with the United States in Islamabad, according to Shehbaz Sharif.
Sharif said Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had agreed to participate in the discussions, marking a potential step toward diplomatic engagement following recent tensions in the region.
In a social media statement, Pezeshkian said the ceasefire reflected Iran’s core principles and credited national unity and sacrifice for what he described as a strategic outcome. He added that Iran would remain united across diplomatic, defense and public spheres going forward.
The talks are expected to take place in Pakistan’s capital as part of broader efforts to stabilise the situation after the recent ceasefire agreement.
