RIYADH, Oct 29: Debris from two ballistic missiles intercepted and destroyed over Riyadh injured a Saudi citizen and damaged a house and a vehicle, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense said on Thursday.
The Civil Defense spokesperson said emergency teams responded to the incident after the missiles, reportedly launched by Yemen’s Houthi militia, were intercepted and destroyed.
The falling debris caused minor injuries to a citizen and material damage to a residential property and a vehicle, according to the statement.
Authorities implemented the approved emergency procedures for such incidents, the spokesperson said.
The incident came amid renewed Houthi missile activity targeting Saudi Arabia. The Saudi-led coalition said on Thursday that its air defenses had intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched toward Riyadh.
Saudi authorities have continued to respond to missile threats as regional hostilities persist, with falling debris posing risks to civilians and property even when incoming missiles are intercepted.
