TEHRAN, Apr 8: Six Individuals have been arrested in Iran’s North Khorasan province over alleged links to what authorities described as “hostile networks,” according to the provincial prosecutor.
The prosecutor said the detainees were in contact via phone calls and text messages with opposition media outlets, and accused them of acting against national security and national interests.
He added that some of those arrested had allegedly shared information, including videos and images from various locations, with the outlets.
According to the statement, the material was intended to assist Iran’s adversaries in identifying potential targets.
The arrests come amid heightened security concerns in the Islamic Republic of Iran, where authorities have increasingly warned against cooperation with foreign-based media and opposition groups.
