TEHRAN, April 28: Iranian authorities have arrested an individual accused of links to “hostile media” and warned that assets of those deemed to be collaborating with enemy states will continue to be confiscated under national security laws.

Police in the southwestern Fars Province said they identified and detained a suspect in the town of Sarvestan on Tuesday, alleging cooperation with foreign media outlets considered hostile by the state. No further details about the individual or the nature of the alleged activities were immediately disclosed.

Separately, Iran’s judiciary chief, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i, said authorities would continue enforcing laws targeting espionage and collaboration with adversarial countries. He emphasized that individuals found guilty under such charges could face the seizure of their assets as part of ongoing measures to counter perceived security threats.

The announcements come amid heightened tensions between Iran and Western nations, with Tehran intensifying its crackdown on activities it views as undermining national security, including alleged cooperation with foreign governments and media organizations.
