TEL AVIV, Apr 19: Iran has agreed in principle to hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium ahead of planned talks with the United States, though the final recipient of the material remains undecided, according to a report by Israel Hayom citing U.S. and regional diplomatic sources.

The report said potential recipients under discussion include Russia, the International Atomic Energy Agency, or even the United States.

Sources indicated that Washington is seeking direct involvement in the process of locating and securing the enriched uranium. However, Iran has not agreed to this condition and is reportedly willing to allow only the IAEA to oversee the operation.

The reported development comes ahead of anticipated negotiations in Islamabad, as diplomatic efforts continue to de-escalate tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program.
