‘Asst undersecretaries, directors general’ KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Indications are rife that the Ministry of Interior will carry out an extensive reshuffling and transfer within the next few weeks, which will cover all sectors. The decision affects assistant undersecretaries, directors general and their deputies, reports Al-Qabas daily. A knowledgeable source was quoted as saying the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid Al- Jarrah has decided to forward the names of five major generals to the Council of Ministers for approval as assistant undersecretary nominees in the new structure. He said the ministry will expand the current structure by creating new sectors and general departments for more assistant undersecretaries. The idea will contribute to eradicate situation whereby senior officers are left without major appointments. He explained that the minister will consider performance level of the officers through the annual reports from various sectors and administrations. He reaffirmed that many of the officers have accomplished signifi- cant achievements in their various sectors, while many others do not deserve to be retained in their current positions.
