Interior Ministry launches vehicle ownership transfer via Sahel

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 1: The Ministry of Interior has introduced a new "Vehicle Ownership Transfer" service through the "Sahel" application. This initiative is part of the Ministry's effort to advance digital transformation and simplify processes for citizens by offering 24/7 electronic service.

The Ministry of Interior acknowledged the collaboration with the Insurance Regulatory Unit in establishing the operational framework for this service. The process involves several steps: the seller initiates the transfer by accessing the "Services" menu in the Sahel app, selecting "Ministry of Interior," then "Traffic Services," and finally the "Vehicle Ownership Transfer" service. The seller submits a request, specifies the vehicle, and enters the new owner's civil number. The new owner receives a notification, agrees to the transfer, and pays the insurance document transfer fees.

Subsequently, the seller receives a notification to confirm receipt of payment and the payment of transfer fees. The buyer then receives a notification to download the new electronic vehicle license, which must be uploaded to the digital wallet via the "My Kuwait ID" application.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated its commitment to digitizing services and enhancing system efficiency to provide distinguished and accessible government services.
