Interior Ministry Expands Smart Services Through Sahel App and Service Centers

KUWAIT CITY, May 10: The Ministry of Interior has announced the launch of its new “Paperless Transactions” project aimed at simplifying and accelerating public services through the Sahel application, citizen service centers and dedicated drive-through facilities.

In a video published on the ministry’s account on X, human rights activist Sultan Nayef Al-Adwani said most basic government transactions are now available through the Sahel app, allowing users to complete services electronically “with the click of a button.”

He added that for residents who are less familiar with technology, service centers across Kuwait have also been upgraded to provide easier and more flexible access to transactions. Citizens and residents can now complete their procedures at any service center nationwide without needing to visit a center linked to their residential address.

Al-Adwani further revealed that each governorate now has at least one drive-through service center dedicated to assisting the elderly, people with disabilities and individuals suffering from health conditions, enabling them to complete transactions without leaving their vehicles.

The ministry said the paperless initiative will eliminate the need to print documents for most procedures, as part of broader efforts to modernize services, reduce paperwork and improve efficiency and organization in government transactions.
