Interior Ministry Denies Rumors of Body Found During Jleeb Crackdown

KUWAIT CITY, July 18: The Ministry of Interior denied reports circulating on social media claiming that an identified corpse was found during the recent campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In an official statement, the ministry urged the public not to believe information circulated on social media through unofficial accounts. It stressed that legal measures will be taken against individuals who publish false news or rumors that mislead public opinion.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the closure of ten violating commercial establishments and the issuance of 152 reports during a joint government campaign carried out by regulatory and security authorities in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Director of the Commercial Control Department Faisal Al-Ansari explained that the campaign uncovered various violations and resulted in legal proceedings against those responsible. The campaign led to the closure of a restaurant and a café for selling counterfeit and expired products, as well as the seizure of gold shops operating in violation of ministerial decisions requiring the provision of electronic payment services. Inspection teams also identified domestic worker recruitment offices collecting fees in cash in violation of regulations, along with travel agencies operating without valid licenses. He confirmed that all violators were referred to the Commercial Prosecution for further legal action.

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) issued 315 citations to food establishments in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh for committing serious violations which included the sale of expired and adulterated food products, as well as operating establishments without valid licenses, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a press statement issued Thursday, PAFN explained that it participated in a large-scale security campaign conducted on Wednesday in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh under the direct supervision of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

The campaign involved 11 government entities and aimed to enhance security and protect public health. The violations also included failures to comply with personal and public hygiene requirements and the sale of food products without valid health certificates. Food items deemed unfit for consumption were immediately destroyed, and the violations were referred to the relevant authorities. PAFN participated in the campaign through inspection teams from the General Directorate of Inspection and Control Affairs, led by Farwaniya Inspection Department Director Talal Al-Daihani, with the participation of 102 inspectors.
