KUWAIT CITY, July 14: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah visited the injured security officer at the hospital on Tuesday to personally check his condition after he was stabbed while on duty in Ali Sabah Al-Salem. During the visit, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef told the injured security officer “this is the price of working in the military sector, whether in the Army or Police. You are a hero and we have nothing to fear for you. Kuwait is built on your shoulders.”
He also asked about the health condition of the officer and the medical team briefed him in this regard as well as the treatment plan. He wished the officer a speedy recovery and immediate return to duty. He stressed that assaulting security personnel is a red line, indicating that anyone harming those performing their duty to protect the nation and uphold the law will not be tolerated. He warned that whoever attacks security personnel will face legal action, and that the Ministry of Interior will remain committed to supporting its staff, ensuring their protection, and enabling them to fulfill their national mission. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the medical team overseeing the officer’s treatment, commending their care and attention to guarantee his stable condition.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s armed forces are currently intercepting hostile aerial targets inside the country’s airspace, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army announced Tuesday. It also noted that any explosions heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting the hostile attacks. The General Staff urged the public to adhere to safety and security instructions issued by the relevant authorities. Kuwait’s armed forces are responding to and intercepting ongoing hostile attacks targeting the country, the Defense Ministry’s official spokesperson, Col. Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, said Tuesday. He urged citizens and residents not to approach, touch or photograph any missile or drone debris, or publish images or videos of damaged sites or interception remnants on social media, and to report them immediately by calling the Emergency No. (112). He affirmed that the armed forces continue to carry out their duties with full readiness to safeguard the country’s security and the safety of citizens and residents.
